Yvonne J. Novak, 73, of Quakertown passed away April 23, 2009 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was the wife of Edward S. Novak for 48 years. Born August 13, 1935 in Egg Harbor, NJ, Yvonne was the daughter of the late John and Sally (Schantzenbach) Oeltjen-Bruns. Her family moved to Pennsylvania when Yvonne was 9 years old. She attended Palisades High School Class of 1953. Yvonne attended West Chester State College. After graduation she taught for 37 years for the Quakertown Community School District at Haycock, Neidig, and Quakertown Elementary. She found great joy and fulfillment teaching young children. She loved teaching children to read and after retiring continued to tutor many students. Yvonne also loved attending and cheering on her children and grandchildren at activities and sporting events. The greatest joy in Yvonne's life was her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters Cynthia and her husband Douglas Lick, Jeanne and her husband Kevin Dierolf, Wendy and partner Sandy Saras, three sisters Mildred Satterthwaite, Lorraine Ford, and Eileen (Sue) Conner, four grandchildren Lauren, Megan, Michael, Zachary, and one great-grandchild Aubrey. She was predeceased by a brother Richard Oeltjen-Bruns. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 28th at 10:30 A.M. in Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C. 9150 Spinnerstown Rd., Spinnerstown, PA 18968.
