Winfield R. Stevens, 96, of Quakertown died January 6, 2013 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. He was the husband of the late Esther C. (Cope) Stevens. Born in Souderton he was the son of the late Vincent & Ruth (Gerhart) Stevens. Prior to his retirement he worked for the former Martin Century Farms in Lansdale. He was a lifetime member of the Shiloh Lodge #558 F & AM in Lansdale, he was also a lifetime member of the Lehigh Valley Consistory. Winfield was a member of the North Penn Shrine Club, the Raja Shrine of Blandon, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Friendship Forest 146, Great Swamp Fish & Game, Quakertown Senior Center and AARP. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WW II, and was a member of the Quakertown American Legion Post 242, and the John Rivers Memorial VFW Post 11322 in Quakertown. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Quakertown. Survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a brother John and a sister Fern Palmarozza. Services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in First United Church of Christ 151 S. 4th St. Quakertown, PA 18951. Call 10:00-11:00 A.M. in the church.
