Wilmer "Pepper" Martin, 94, of Quakertown died April 3, 2014 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. He was the husband of Arlean (Bissey) Martin. Born in Quakertown he was the son of the late Wilmer A. & Elsie (George) Martin. He was payroll supervisor for the U.S. Gauge in Sellersville. He and his wife were houseparents at childrens homes in Pennsylvania. Pepper was also the former Pastor of Kempton Mennonite Church. He was very active in the baseball community serving as a coach. He was inducted into the Quakertown/Pennridge Hall of Fame, the American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame, and the Blue Mountain League Hall of Fame. Pepper was one of the original organizers of the Quakertown Little League. Pepper also coached American Legion Baseball and various other community teams into his late 70s. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan. Pepper was a member and elder at Saucon Mennonite Church in Coopersburg. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons John Martin & his wife Jean of New Port Richey, FL., James Martin and his wife Cindy of Hudson, FL., two daughters Eleanor Fly of Quakertown, PA and Janice Rotenberger of Sellersville, PA. A brother Kenneth Martin and wife Kay of Quakertown. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the C. R.
