William L. George, 78, of Quakertown died April 29, 2009 in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Brader) George. They were married for 47 years on April 7th. Born in Quakertown he was the son of the late Charles & Madelyn (Shearer) George. He was an automotive machinist for Quakertown Auto Parts retiring in 2000. In the early 1960's he was a stock car mechanic for the Vargo Racing Team. William was a 35 year member of West End Fire Co. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Lori L. Landis and her husband John of Quakertown and Wendy Smakulski and her husband Michael of Coopersburg.
