William L. Batcsics, Sr., 78, of Quakertown died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of Gladys (Hillegas) Batcsics. They were married 50 years last November. He was a heavy equipment operator last employed by Calabrette Excavating in Quakertown. Born in Haycock Twsp., he was the son of the late George & Mary (Merklin) Batcsics. He was a U. S. Army Veteran Serving during WW II. He was a member of the Silver Creek Athletic Association and a former member of the Quakertown American Legion Post #242. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons William L., Jr. and his wife Sandra, James E. and his wife Kathy, Robert B. and his companion Bonnie all of Quakertown, Terry L. and his wife Vicki of Spinnerstown and Barry D. and his companion Roxanne of Trumbauersville. Three daughters Barbara, Sharon wife of Charles Weil both of Quakertown and Diane of Trumbauersville. A sister Edith Strawn of Bethlehem. 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Ernest and a sister Anna Drake. Services will be held on Friday May 13, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown.
