Willard G. Markley, 98 years old, died August 17, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown, PA. He was born in Weissport, Pa., the son of the late Ralph Markley and Mable (Gearhart) Markley. He was married to the late Phyllis (Haigh) Markley. Willard was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Company as a foreman in the Electronics Dept, retiring after 32 years of service. After retirement from Bethlehem Steel, he worked for LVHN for 10 years in the Electronics Dept. He was also known for his beautiful wood carvings, displaying them in different places in Lehigh and Bucks Counties. He was a member of the Schimmel Woodcarvers Club and won several awards in shows throughout Bucks County. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Quakertown, PA He is survived by his companion Joan Wilhelm of Quakertown, son Jeffrey Markley of FL and daughter Joan Krotz (Richard) of Coopersburg, PA, three granddaughters, Kimberly (Markley) Trackman (Ken) of NJ, Sheila (Markley) Fritch, and Kristina (Krotz) Verna (Luke) of Center Valley, PA. He has three great-grandchildren, Brandon and Mia Verna, Christopher Fritch and two neices. He was predeceased by two brothers, Russel and Raymond and two sisters, Avril Bloom and Alberta Esrang.
