Wally was born in Uniontown, PA on January 24, 1923 to the late Wallace "Lucky" Bierer and Ivy Marie (Green) Bierer. He was the eldest of three children. He graduated from Uniontown High School in 1942 after proudly serving in the Navy (Atlantic Theatre) during WW II aboard the U. S. Destroyer USS Tolman. He started his career with Playford Romesburg as a typewriter repairman in Uniontown, PA. His unique ability with the gift of gab landed him a job with Remington Rand as a salesman. He was also employed by American Sterilizer of Erie PA as their Government Armed Forces Sales Rep. He left Sterilizer for a job with Weber Dental of Canton, Ohio as their Philadelphia Sales rep, then their Armed Forces Rep selling and installing dental equipment to Military Bases Nationwide. He married the "girl next door" Anna Cecilia Maher on a Friday, his 24th birthday and in St. John's Rectory in Uniontown. He always laughed when Anna reminded him they had to have fish as their wedding meal. Wallace was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He and Anna celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in January. He was also an avid bass fisherman having spent years vacationing with his son at Lake Champlain, NY. He was a proud Veteran of World War II and a Patriotic American insisting on buying only made in USA products. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 242 in Quakertown. He will be dearly missed by his children, daughter Mary Ann Windmassinger and her husband Mark of Quakertown with whom he resided, his son James of Danboro, his grandson "The Gyrene" Sgt Mark D.
