Virginia S. Berlenbach

Virginia Strawn Berlenbach, originally from Quakertown, PA, died on February 25, 2010, in the Springfield Memorial Hospital, from complications of pneumonia. She was born December 5, 1918, in Philadelphia, PA, to Thomas and Laura (O'Callaghan) Strawn. She graduated from Quakertown High School, Quakertown, PA, in 1936. She attended Bucknell College. She was married to John Berlenbach, Sr. on October 25, 1939. Employed in a number of occupations over the years, she got the greatest pleasure from working with people, especially in her later years as a housemother of teenage boys in a boarding school. She lived in many places over the years, including Quakertown, PA; Hicksville, NY; Ocean City, NJ; Lebanon, NH; and, most recently, Windsor, VT. She was predeceased by her husband, who died in 1975. She is survived by her children, The Rev. Thomas L. Berlenbach, John Berlenbach, Jr., Jill M. Strawn, and Daniel S. Berlenbach, and their families. A requiem eucharist will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 560 S. Main St. Quakertown, PA, on Saturday, March 6, at 11 am. Burial will follow at Quakertown Union Cemetery. The C. R.
