Virginia 'Ginny' Moratti Young

d. December 15, 2016

Virginia "Ginny" (Rojinski) Moratti Young passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 15th surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and other related illnesses. Ginny graduated from Mahanoy City High School in 1954 and made a spunky decision in those days to leave friends and family behind to begin her career as a Bell Telephone operator in Philadelphia. She later trained at Empire Beauty School and was employed as a hair stylist at Bonwit Teller in Philadelphia. She married Albert Moratti, the love of her life, in 1959 and began her most cherished role of raising a family. With a young family of four children, Al and Ginny took a leap of faith and moved to the Netherlands to explore new work opportunities and travel experiences. In 1974, Al passed away after a long illness and Ginny showed tremendous strength and determination in raising their four children on her own. Years later, she married Charles Young and became stepmother to his 11 children. Ginny realized her lifelong dream by completing her nursing degree at LaSalle College at the age of 51 and worked for over 15 years as a rehabilitation nurse, retiring from Doylestown Hospital. In retirement, Ginny devoted her life to faith, family, and friends. She loved quilting, traveling, reading, and gardening. Ginny was a phenomenal cook known for her famous lasagna and apple pie and over-the-top holiday gatherings at her farmhouse in Doylestown. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Quakertown and devoted much of her time to many social and community organizations including the Quakertown Womens Club, the Red Hat Society, St. Isidore School and food pantry, as well as the Catholic Womens League. She is survived by brother Albert Rojinski, and her children and their spouses; Dianne (Peter) Garcia; Cindy (Mark) Feinberg; Carole (Jay) Scoggin; and David (Caitlin) Moratti. The pride and joy of Ginnys life were her 10 loving grandchildren, ages 2 to 22. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands Albert Moratti and Charles Young; and brother Edward Rojinski. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Ginny will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 2545 West Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, Pennsylvania 18951.
