Velma D. Swartz

Velma D. Swartz, 88 of Quakertown died Friday August 29, 2008 in Belle Haven Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Swartz. Velma was a homemaker. Born in Quakertown on September 23, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Allen T. and Florence G. (Dewey) Rothrock. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Quakertown. She is survived by a son William A. Swartz and wife Kathy of Greenville, SC. Two brothers Ralph Rothrock and wife Peggy of Harrisburg and Glenn Rothrock and wife Arlene of Allentown. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter in law Carole P. Swartz and a sister Ruth Rothrock Deiley. In addition the family wishes to thank all of Velma's friends and neighbors for the help and support given over the years with a special thanks to Kelly Mitchell and her family. Graveside services will be held on Friday September 5, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Quakertown Union Cemetery, Cemetery Road Quakertown. The family will receive friends Thursday evening September 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Velma's home. Arrangements are in the care of the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc.
