Thomas J. Joella

Thomas John Joella, 86, of Bangor formerly of Pen Argyl died Thursday, May 3, 2007 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg Campus. He was the husband of the late Retha Jane (Hockings) Joella and the late Betty J. (Ritter) Joella. Born in East Bangor on May 31, 1920 he was the son of the late Frank & Carmel (Cesare) Joella. He was the owner operator of the former Donna Lee Blouse Co. in Pen Argyl from 1948-1980. He was the founding father and board member of the Atlantic Apparel Contractors Association. He was a member of the Pen Argyl Exchange Club and a member of the Northampton County Republican Committee where he received the Chairman's Award in 1998 and also served on the Northampton County Revenue Board of Appeals from 1980-1992. Thomas also was a board member of the former First National Bank of Pen Argyl and served on the Board of Directors of PNC. He was a former member of the Bangor Elks and the Pen Argyl Exchange Club. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy SeaBees. He is survived by a daughter Donna Roberti of Bethlehem and a son Ron of Pen Argyl Five grandchildren, One great grandchild and Two great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Attorney Daniel F. Joella. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 8 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Pen Argyl. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Penna. Ave. Pen Argyl and on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church 12 N. Westbrook Ave. Pen Argyl, PA 18072. Arrangements in care of the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc.
