Stuart D. Badman

Stuart Drissel Badman, passed away July 20, 2010 in the comfort of his home, attended by family. Born November 5, 1919 in Lansdale, PA he was the son of Eton Swinehart & Florence (Rickert) Badman. He is predeceased by Fern in December 2006, his loving wife of 59 years. He was a 1937 graduate of Quakertown Community High School and the Bliss Electrical School. With WW II he joined the Navy from June 1942-November 1945, serving 2 years in the South Pacific with the Sea Bees 20th Battalion. After the war, he entered partnership with his father and older brother in Badman's Funiture on North Broad St. Lansdale. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Quakertown where he served on the Council of Deacon's. He was also a brother of Quakertown Masonic Lodge #512 for 64 years. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, traveling with Fern, and working in his vegetable garden. Except for the two years in the South Pacific Theatre, he lived his entire life on South Third St., first as a boy in his parent's home, then moving two doors down after marriage. He is profoundly missed by his family and friends, and remembered as a good and honest man of few words, but with deep conviction and strength of personality. He is survived by his son Dennis S. Badman, MD of Wakefield, NH; three grandchildren Emelia Denise (Badman) Ferris, Margo Ashley Badman, and Tobias Eton Badman; three great granddaughters, Willa, Nora, and Deanna Ferris; his brother Clyde of Blaine, PA; nephews, James Badman, and Richard Roth, nieces Nancy and Barbara Behringer; and great nephew Steven Badman and family. Services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church 19 S. 10th St. Quakertown. Call 9:30-10:30 A.M. in the church. The C. R.
