Stanley D. "Stan" Sowers

Stanley D. "Stan" Sowers, 79, of Quakertown died Wedensday, October 4, 2006 in his home. He was the husband of Ana A. (Mejia) Sowers. Born in York, PA he was the son of the late George W. & Esther (Trout) Sowers. He retired in 1984 for the Liquor Control Board working in the Quakertown State Store. He was past president 1992-1993 and a member of the former Milford Lions Club, and also a former member of the West End Fire Co., Quakertown. Stan attended East Swamp Church in Quakertown. In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters Flor wife of Edward Wilson and Alicia wife of Andrew Kowalchuk all of Allentown and Margarita wife of Lamar Yerk of Mertztown. Two brothers George and his wife Joan of York and Ronald of North Wales. Three sisters Doris wife of Wesley Ziegler of Pennsburg, Carol Wackerman of Quakertown and Charlene Barton of Doylestown. Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Jane Meyers. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at East Swamp Church 2405 E. Swamp Rd. Quakertown. Call 10:00-11:00 A.M. in the church. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc.
