Edwin E. "Whitey" Baker, Sr. 78, of Quakertown formerly of Bruceton Mills, West VA died Sunday, November 12, 2006 in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. Born in Edenton, NC he was the son of the late James Richard and Bessie (Perry) Baker. He retired in 1977 from the American Bridge Division of the former US Steel in Trenton, NJ. He was a member of the Stump Jumpers Hunting Club in Crosswicks, NJ. And also a member of the American Legion West Virginia Post #0174. Edwins pride and joy were his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by a son Thomas and his wife April of Quakertown, and a daughter Barbara wife of John Sutterlin of Bordentown, NJ. Two grandchildren Rachel Joyce Baker and James Edwin Baker. His former wife Rachel. Many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Edwin R. "Buddy" Baker, Jr. who died in June and three sisters, Josephine, Beulah, and Gertrude, and two brothers William and James. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown.
