Sarah Jane Schiefer

Obituary Sarah Jane Schiefer, age 65, of Spinnerstown died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 in her home. She was born December 2, 1954 in Atlantic City, NJ to Thomas and Elizabeth Talpey. A caring and giving spirit, she took a position as a caregiver for Aveanna Health and took her role to heart. She cared for her clients the same way she would if they were her own. Her grandchildren were her favorite people, and she constantly thought of them and did special things for them. She rarely came to her daughters home without some sort of surprise for TJ and Rowan. A lifelong animal lover, Sarah had a special place in her heart for animals that had been abused or neglected and strived to help any in need. She made sure the local stray cats in her neighborhood had access to shelter, warmth, and food during inclement weather by setting up for them on her front porch. She also loved birds and had a special place in her heart for horses. Sarah was a very direct, warm soul. Heavily involved with recovery, she was not one to mince words, and would do anything to help those in need. It was not uncommon for Sarah to drive long distances for friends, show up to help at a moments notice, nurse injured people back to health, or take a struggling soul in for a few weeks. In addition to her love of animals and people, Sarah also loved nature and crafts. Over the years she studied different crafts and created beautiful works including stained glass work, handmade rugs, knitting, and wool felting. She is survived by her father; her brother William Talpey; her daughter Kelly Wiler, her son-in-law Thomas Wiler; and her grandchildren, TJ and Rowan Wiler. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
