Ruth Naomi "Slicker" Dietz

Ruth Naomi "Slicker" Dietz, 82, of Quakertown died December 19, 2008 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp. She was the wife of William H. Dietz, Jr. They were married 59 years last April. Born in Quakertown she was the daughter of the late Irwin and Elsie S. (Martin) Meyers. She was a bookkeeper for the former Fritz Bakery. Ruth's family considered her an early environmentalist teaching them at an early age to conserve the earth's resources. She enjoyed nature especially wildflowers and insects. She was very artistic doing oil paintings and flower arrangements. She enjoyed card and board games and belonging to a sewing club with close friends. Ruth was a member of First United Church of Christ in Quakertown. She received a lot of joy reading to her grandchildren and her family was the love of her life. In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters Pamela S. of Sellersville, and Deborah A. Steskal and her husband Ronald of Chalfont. A son Jeffrey A. of Quakertown. A brother William and his wife Uteen and a sister Dorothy Myers all of Quakertown. Four grandchildren Ryan, Timothy, Jason Steskal and his wife Kimberly and Andrew Dietz. She was predeceased by a sister Ada Hager, two brothers Harold and Lester and a granddaughter Christine Steskal. Memorial Services will be held on Sat. January 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. There will be no calling hours.
