Robert M. Long, 87, of Richlandtown formerly of Quakertown died April 26, 2017 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center. He was the husband of Shirley R. (Trautman) Long. They were married 39 years last August. He was also the husband of the late Wanda (Stauffer) Long. Born in Quakertown he was the son of the late Warren M. & Pauline (Moyer) Long. He was the supervisor for the Quakertown Borough Water Department for 20 years before his retirement. Prior to that he served 4 years as the Zoning Officer and 20 years as supervisor of the Borough power plant. He sang for the Harmonaires Gospel Group and played and taught trumpet. Robert was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Quakertown where he sang in the choir. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Dianne Long of Ridge Spring, SC, step-son Rick Hartenstine of Quakertown. Two nieces Cathy Gillalan & Lynn Routson, and two nephews Steve Cain & Glenn Stauffer. He is also survived by many cousins. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
