Obituary Rita was born on October 28th,1934, to Mary Elizabeth (Landon) and John Walter James in Phoenixville, PA. Rita 85, entered eternal life on Sunday July 19, 2020 Places Rita called home, Phoenixville, Montoursville, Jonesmill, Willow Hill, Philadelphia, Hatboro, New Britain, Hilltown and Quakertown. Rita Attended school at Saint Marys,Webster School, Donegal Elementary School, Saint Joan Of Arc, Little Flower Highschool for girls and Graduated in 1952 also furthered her education at Lansdale School of Business, Studied Cosmetology at the Academy in Willow Grove. Growing up Ritas entire world revolved around the neighborhood and points of interest within walking distance. Saint Joan of Arc School, the Iris, Midway, The Harrogate movie theater, Kensington Avenues 5 & 10, The Maryann Shop, Shoe stores and the Skating rink. The VFW Lodge, " Jake the Iceman", Lamp lighters, James Candy Store in Philadelphia Grand parent owned Ritas fantasy land, Fathers fish store, Collecting recycling for the war effort provided not only economic reward but a feeling of patriotism. Lets not forget the radish sandwiches and potato soup. Rita practiced religious beliefs at Saint Isidores Catholic Church in Quakertown, PA. Rita worked happily in her professional life, Tri - County Roofing family owned business. The Quakertown Free Press on the classified section, on the editorials, retail advertising, national advertising manager, advisor to the classified section, receptionist, phone operator. Rita even developed and created an area in the newspaper called The Creative Corner where anyone could publish their stories. Rita wrote her own family memories in the column. Carstons Helicopter as a secretary, did legal paperwork. Magnetizer Group in Public Relations, Sales, bookkeeping and as a receptionist. Rita found special joy in her columns at the Free Press, among the many newspaper articles she wrote was a natural outlet for her outgoing personality and love of writing her stories that garnered awards. The times Rita spent at Nicely Fields, Montoursville where she spent many wonderful summers as a child. Where sometimes the family festivities, the Landon Huffman reunion were held. The credentials for the family to attend were provided by her grandparents Walter and Ina (Huffman) Landon. Rita wrote: If you let yourself, you get the chance to stand back and size up a part of your beginnings, consider the differences and glory in the similarities And for the most part, sharing the pride. Its a time to remember years gone by and make new memories. A time to absorb all you can from and contribute to your familys history to have and pass on before youve become part of it. Adventures on the farm in Hilltown Beau Cheval Farm, One horse is never enough owned 17 Quaterhorses, Several cats, dogs, 4 calves, Beefalo, Bantam hen "Henrietta" and brood of 13, 4 Roosters, pigs, Goats, Ducks, Racoons, Geese. The rancher with picturesque windows looked out over the pond full of ducks, blue herring, catfish, turtles, surrounding area deer, turkeys, all gods creatures. Preceded in death by my loving parents Mary Elizabeth (Landon) and John Walter James, my first husband Alfred A. Miley, Son Alfred A. Miley JR, Grandson Alfred A. Miley III, Grandson Michael J. Lag JR. Rita married Alfred A. Miley in 1955 -1990 Rita remarried 1998 to another love of her life Frank (Bud) J Homsher, with whom she shared the rest of her life. Rita is survived by her beloved husband Frank (Bud) J. Homsher, sisters Rosalie Brancato (Joe), Peggy Kelly (John) of Boca Raton, Susanne Carsten (Terry) of Orlando, brothers David James (Carol) of Mays Landing, Robert James (predeceased Marie) of Manahawkin, NJ Children Michael Edward Miley (Wendy) of Perkasie, Rita Ann Miley Weber (Bob) of Pinehurst NC, Beth Ann Eister (Dave) of Quakertown, Lisa Marie Zampirri (William) of Quakertown, Sister in law Trudy Allard (John) of Douglasville, Pa My husbands children Russel C. Homsher of Perkasie, Michael Homsher (Jan) of Melrose Park, Steven D. Homsher (Gretchen) of Boulder Co, Ray Homsher (Jolie) of Leonardtown Md, My lovely 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews on both Ritas and Buds sides of the family and a record number of devoted friends. I was given the gift of life, now I give it back. I was a lucky woman, who had a beautiful cherished existence. My beloved friends and family, how valued and adored you all have been to me. Knowing and loving each one of you was gods gift we will meet again joyfully, on the other side. Call 9:30-10:30 A.M. Follow by procession to Our Lady of the Sacred Hearts Cemetery 1729 Hilltown, Pa 18911, the luncheon will be held at Nockamixon State Park Lot #1. The C. R.
