Raymond Loye Gregory, Quakertown, died Monday, March 24, 2008 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was 69. Born in Webster Springs, West Virginia he was the son of the late James C. & Effie (Hamrick) Gregory. Prior to retirement, he worked as a machine operator for Avery Dennison Corporation in Quakertown. Named after "Traveling Cowboy Loye", a country musician, he was the youngest of thirteen children. Along with all eight of his brothers, he proudly served in the United States Military. As an Air Controlman for the United States Navy, Loye assumed responsibility for the John F. Kennedy First Family travel through the Anacostia Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. He will be lovingly remembered as a man with a great sense of humor who was proud of his family and cherished the times he spent with them. He is survived by a son Kevin Gregory of Alburtis and a daughter Deborah Gan and her husband Thomas of Doylestown; two brothers - Clinton of Dayton, Ohio and Madison of Diana, WV; a sister Betty of West Virginia; three grandchildren Sarah, Connor, and Aaron; and his "best buddy" John Francis Hamrick. He was predeceased by nine siblings Arden, Charles, Hubert, Victor, Bud, Wib, Merle, Ruby and Ruth. Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call 9:30-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross - Southeastern PA Chapter, 23rd & Chestnut Streets, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
