Patricia A. Tompkins

d. October 21, 2006

Patricia A. Tompkins, Quakertown, died Saturday Oct 21st at St. Luke's VNA Hospice, Bethlehem in the company of her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Tompkins. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Anne (Cassidy) and Francis A. Glemser. Prior to retirement, she and her husband "Bud" owned and operated Tompkins Electric in Roslyn. Pat attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Quakertown where she served as an usher and was a proud member of their "Trinity Red Hat Butterflies". She enjoyed traveling, reading, baking, scrapbooking, and her days on the beach, but most of all, Pat loved the company of others. Having planned a vacation to England with her husband who passed away before it could happen, Pat was ultimately accompanied by her older brother Fritz. The stories and pictures they shared will forever serve as a reminder of the carefree, fun loving person she was. Pat willingly spent her life as a caretaker for those around her - including her four younger brothers, her husband and their three daughters. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, the youngest of which - Andrew - was born just yesterday. She extended that same love to the young children in her neighborhood. As a six year lung cancer survivor, Pat was a vibrant person who lived life to the fullest, never second guessed herself, and was the life of any party. Simply put, she knew that every day was a gift and took nothing for granted. Pat leaves behind an incredible legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by three daughters - Nancy Lieberman and her husband Jay, Patti Steinberger and her husband Stephen with whom she resided, and Judy Mahar and her husband Robert; four brothers - Fritz, Joe, Jerry, and John Glemser; eight grandchildren - Anthony and Vincent Serratore, Robert and Bryan Lieberman, Marc and Lauren Steinberger, and Robert John and Abigail Mahar; three great grandchildren - Nathan, Angelina, and Andrew Serratore; nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by a brother Ronald Glemser. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25th 11:00 A.M. at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown.
