Norma Myers

June 5, 1926 — February 22, 2016

Norma Hampton Myers, 89, of Quakertown went home to meet her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2016 at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was the wife of David Myers they were married for 63 years last December. She was born in Dearborn, MI and grew up in Ashland City, TN., and was the daughter of the late Bynum & Margaret (Clement) Hampton. In 1960 she aided in the development of CDP in Quakertown a center for physically and mentally challenged children. She remained active in the center for two years and then was chosen to become the director. This became a very important part of her life and she remained there for 22 years. She loved each and every one of them. Norma received much of her training through United Cerebral Palsy and Temple University. Norma was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Quakertown. She especially enjoyed making pies and cookies for the children at Silver Springs-Martin Luther School in Plymouth Meeting, PA. She also enjoyed making Easter baskets for the children in the cancer unit of CHOP at LVH-Muhlenberg. Norma always thought of others before herself and truly gave from the heart. When younger she worked at the former Yingst Nursing Home, truly loving every elderly person there and was a blessing to many that she cared for. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter Laurie Heuckeroth (James). Four granddaughters Deana Cronk, Melissa Dottery (Ryan), Lisa Heuckeroth, and Tracy Sloyer; two great granddaughters Casie Cronk and McKayla Dottery,, and two great grandsons Cameron Cronk and Christian Dottery; a sister Frances Graham. She was also the heart to the Hudreck family, Bill, Jane and son Bryan, she was also fond of Navy Officer Brian Scaramucci. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by daughter Barbara Sloyer, sisters Edith Howell, and Margaret Britton and brothers M. Sgt. Bynum and Thomas E. Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church 102 N. Hellertown Ave. Quakertown, PA 18951. Call 9:30-11:00 A.M. in the church.
