Mildred "Millie" Amelia VanPelt, 96, a life long resident of Bucks County passed away on March 23, 2009 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife of the late W. Ernest "Ernie" VanPelt, Sr. They were married 64 years prior to his death. Born in Wrightstown, PA on December 17, 1912 she was the daughter of the late Russell and Laura (Krewson) German. Mildred loved working outdoors and tending to her lawn and flower gardens. An excellent cook and baker she loved cooking for her family and friends. She was the devoted mother to her daughter Shirley VanPelt Kappen of Sayre, PA and son William VanPelt, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. A sister Cora German Fleming and her husband Linford of Kutztown, PA. She was also the doting grandmother and great grandmother and was lovingly known as "Mannie" and "Grana" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren Pamela Berry and her husband James of Bookville, Pa., Michael Tussey and his wife Carol of Perkiomenville, PA, Linda Tussey Smith and her fiancee Bob Dundor of Lebonon, PA, Matthew VanPelt and his wife Lori of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Her great grandchildren Jamie Berry, Phillip Berry both of Brookville, PA and Nathaniel Tussey of Perkiomenville, Kate Tussey and her fiancee Alex Niconovich of Washington, DC, and Corey Matthew VanPelt of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Two step great grandchildren Ryan and Brett of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Mildred is also survived by her companion of 10 years and a special friend of the family John Seaton of Quakertown. She was predeceased by a sister Doris German Madison who died in February of 2009. Services will be held on March 26, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc.
