Luther K. Wieand, 79 of Quakertown died Saturday May 27, 2006 in his home. He was the husband of Mary A. (Hausman) Wieand. They celebrated 58 years of marriage on May 15th. He retired in 1989 from MERCK Pharmaceuticals in North Wales, prior to his employment at MERCK he was employed as a supervisor at Philco Ford in Lansdale. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Quakertown. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the Quakertown American Legion Post 242. Luther also enjoyed woodworking. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Debra L. wife of Elwood Jacoby of New Tripoli and two sons Dennis C. and his wife Jan of Coopersburg and Michael S. and his wife Kathie of Bethlehem. A brother Henry K. and his wife Betty of Emmaus and a sister Helen Hottel of Quakertown. 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild Services will be held on Wednesday May 31, at 11:00 a.m. at First U.C.C. 4th and Park Ave., Quakertown. Call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First U.C.C. P.O.
