Leona M. Schaffer, 87, of Quakertown went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2011 in Independence Court, Quakertown. She was the wife of Earl T. Schaffer. They were married 69 years on September 12th. Born in Spring Valley, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Ella (Kline) McCarthy. She retired in 1957 as a seamstress for various clothing mills in the area. Leona enjoyed crafts and was a member of Locus Valley Chapel in Coopersburg. In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons William and his wife Jean of Coopersburg, Richard and his wife Barbara of Hellertown, Jerry and his wife Diane of Zionsville, and a daughter Judith Jones and her husband Bruce of Green Lane. A brother Charles and his wife Bertha and a stepsister Betty Paul all of Lakeland, Florida. Eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Preston. Services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Locust Valley Chapel 5936 Locust Valley Rd. Coopersburg, PA 18036. Call 10:00-11:00 A.M. in the church. The C. R.
