Leon P. Suida, 77, of Quakertown, formerly of Perkasie, died January 15th in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Lorraine (Afflerbach) Suida. They celebrated 58 years of marriage in December. Born in Bedminster, he was the son of the late Frank & Kathryn (Waligorski) Suida. Leon was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ in Perkasie and the Sellersville Moose. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Leon worked as a line crew leader for P P & L. The years that followed were spent with his wife touring the country in their motor home. He enjoyed bowling at the Perkasie Owls Club and hunting and fishing with family and friends He later became a founding member of the Odd Ones Hunting Club of Tioga County. Leon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Scott and his wife Stephanie of Quakertown, a daughter Cindy and her friend Patty Novak of Bethlehem; three grandchildren - Ryan, Sean, and April, and many nieces and nephews. Leon was predeceased by four siblings - Henry, Pete, Josephine and Rita, and eight step brothers and sisters. Services will be held on January 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call Tuesday 9:30-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
