Laurel Arline Kramer

Laurel Arline Kramer (nee Ortlip), 92, of Center Valley formerly of Philadelphia died April 30, 2008 in the home of her daughter with whom she resided. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Kramer whom she married on May 31, 1941 and they lived happily together for 62 years. Born in Philadelphia on June 21, 1915, where she lived most of her life she was the daughter of the late James Garfield and Laura Arline (Wentling) Ortlip. Before retiring in 1983 she was a secretary for the Hill School in Pottstown for 1 year then at Royal Petroleum in Philadelphia. Her secretarial skills were appreciated at many places of employment, including Atlantic Refining Company, Miseracordia Hospital, Fidelity Bank, General Electric, the University of PA School of Nursing, the Wharton School of Business, New Bolton Center and Jefferson Hospital. In 1990 Arline and Chal moved to the Lehigh Valley and spent their retiree years doing some traveling and enjoying the company of family and friends. She was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Quakertown. She is survived by her two sons Charles and his wife Diana of Phoenixville, PA, James and his wife RoseAnn of Harleysville, Pa.; her daughter Karen Arencibia and her husband Jose of Center Valley, Pa. A sister Marjorie Adrienne Parkerson of Pine Top, NC. Ten grandchildren Jennifer Smith and her husband Ray, Ken Kramer and his wife Christy, and Tara Kramer, (children of Charles & Diana) Joseph Arencibia and his wife Akiko, Erik, Joanna and Kevin (children of Karen Ian, Abbey and Will Kramer (children of Jim and Rose Ann). Five great grandchildren Matthew, Brendan and Mallory Smith (children of Jennifer and Ray); Katy and Charlie Kramer (children of Ken and Christy). She was predeceased by a brother Jay and sisters Dorothy Long and Jan Van Eeden. Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 9:30 A.M. in Emmanuel Episcopal Church 560 S. Main St. Quakertown, Pa 18951. Call Saturday 8:30-9:15 A.M. in the church. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) Quakertown is in charge of the arrangements.
