Kenneth G. Rhodes, 75, of Quakertown died March 5, 2010 at Clare Bridge of Dublin, Dublin, Pa. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Nase) Rhodes. They were married 53 years last December. Born in Easton he was the son of the late George & Elise (Durns) Rhodes. He retired after 35 years of service from Ametek/U S Gauge, Sellersville where he served as a group leader in the punch press department and was involved with union activities serving as a shop steward, business rep, vice president and president of District 152. Ken was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War and played on the Navy Soccer Team. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 242, VFW Post 245. He volunteered with the United Way Allocations Committee, and was a member of the Advisory Board of Bucks County Association of Retired and Senior Citizens. He also was involved with the Pennridge Activities Senior Center and the Child Development Board of Quakertown. He enjoyed gardening and doing crossword puzzles. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters Vicki Rush (Gary) of Green Lane, and Deborah Curtis (Charles, Jr.) of Quakertown. A sister Virginia Dresher (Robert) of Quakertown. Grandchildren Eric, Melissa, and Zachary. A great grandchild Sophia. He was predeceased by a brother Robert Allen Rhodes and a step brother Richard Durns. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening March 10th from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. There will be no services.
