Kathryn L. Stump, 88, of Trumbauersville died April 29, 2015 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was the wife of the late Melvin R. Stump for 40 years and the late Eugene H. Hauck for 14 years. Born in Trumbauersville she was the daughter of the late Warren B. & Emma A. (Erdman) Levy. Kathryn was a Justice of the Peace first elected with a write in vote in 1949, and served Trumbauersville in that capacity for 20 years, until Pennsylvania Judiciary System changed in 1970, she then became District Justice serving Quakertown, Richlandtown and Trumbauersville Borough along with Milford, Richland, and East Rockhill Townships for 22 years. All together serving the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 42 years making her one of the longest tenured District Justices. She also prepared Income Taxes for 20 years and a newspaper reporter serving two local papers. Kathryn was awarded women of the year in 1983 by the Quakertown Business and Professional Womens Club. She was a member of the Trumbauersville Fire Companies Ladies Auxiliary, and the Grand View Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a Girl Scout and Brownie leader for 8 years. Kathryn also was a member of the Upper Buck CB Radio Club, an avid stamp and coin collector, enjoyed knitting and attending flea markets and her most favorite pastime was attending all three of her daughters sporting events from high school through college. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Trumbauersville where she served as the first female church council member, she was the former treasurer of the Lutheran Church Womens Committee, sang in the church choir and also served as the former church secretary , she also attended East Swamp Church. She is survived by three daughters Mary L. Lederer (Larry) Grace Stump-Morris, Ruth Ann Kiesel (Dr. William) all of Quakertown. Two brothers Paul E. of Placida, Florida, and B. Franklin of Telford. Two half sisters Carol Brensinger (Bob) of Allentown, and Lorraine Harlan of Roaring Brook Township, PA. Four grandchildren Brendan Lederer of Quakertown, Heather Myers (Dean) of East Greenville, Wynn Kiesel (Lauren) of Fairfax, VA, and Evan Kiesel (Allyson) of Hamilton, NJ. Six great grandchildren Zane, Larissa, Dean, Annika, Ridge, and Zachary. She was predeceased by a sister G. Ethel Hafler, and a son-in-law Don. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown, PA 18951. There will be no formal services. Burial in Christ Lutheran Cemetery was held at the convenience of the family.
