Joseph E. Scibek. 63, of Pennsburg formerly of Quakertown died January 9, 2011 in his home. He was the husband of the late Barbara L. (Ruddy) Scibek. Born in Wilkes Barre, Pa he was the son of the late Stanley & Agnes (Kovaleski) Scibek. In 1966 Joseph enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and after serving during the Vietnam War, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserves in 1972 joining the 913th TAW in Willow Grove. He served in Desert Storm with the Reserves and retired as a jet engine mechanic from the Reserves on March 18, 2006. He was a member of the VFW Post 5954 in Red Hill. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg. Joseph is survived by a son Jeffery J. and his wife Suzanne of Horseheads, NY, a daughter Trasa L. Markham and her husband Jeff of Pennsburg. A brother Stanley and his wife Angie of Plymouth, PA, and two sisters Diane Miskin and her husband Tom of Wilkes Barre and Maryann Scibek of Plains, PA. Eight grandchildren Alyssa, Jeffrey, and Natalie Markham, Zaccery, Jacob, Joshua, Joel, and Christian Scibek. Nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Joey and a brother David. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 8:00 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown, PA 18951.
