Obituary Joseph S. Corona, 76 of Quakertown died Saturday September 5, 2020 in his home. He was the husband of Teresa M. (Waibel) Corona. They celebrated their 47wedding October 28th. Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Julia (Nemetz) Corona. He was a self-employed plumber before retiring, prior to that he was a plumber for the Plumbers Union Local 690 in Philadelphia. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade and a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves. Joseph was proud of his military service and his union brotherhood. Many fond family memories were centered on days spent at Nockamixon Park on the weekends, teaching his grand daughter to swim, and sending quiet time with his wife. His lack of social awareness regarding where he often stepped in the yard and then came into the house resulted in his nickname, Poopy Shoes Pop-Pop and a song by the same name. He kept himself busy during his retirement becoming involved in the shortwave radio community (ARRL) and participating in search and rescue operations with his tracking dog, Kody. Kody and Joseph were proud members of both the Blue Mountain and Lehigh Valley Rescue Teams. Kody eventually became Josephs service dog. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Joseph W. and wife Rebecca of Cazenovia, NY and Michael W. of Quakertown. A granddaughter Fern. Two sisters Theresa Knipe and Rose Morton both of NJ. He will also be missed by his pet dogs Max, CiCi, Ginger and Baby Girl, and family cat, Tiger.
