John William Lengyel, 74, of Quakertown died Thursday, March 29, 2007 in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's Bethlehem. He was the husband of Shirley Mae (Weirback) Lengyel. They were married 50 years last June. Born in Quakertown he was the son of the late Paul G. & Irene (Hegedus) Lengyel. He was a welder for the New Jersey Zinc Company for 28 years before retiring. He also worked for Ringo Hills Farms as a welder. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. In addition to his wife he is survived by four daughters Rosemarie wife of Harry Mitchell and Chastidy Knauer all of Quakertown, Roxane wife of Leslie Stout of Lehighton, and Debra wife of Herbert Hottenstein, Jr. of Allentown. Six sisters Mary Bowen of Rio Grande, NJ, Aurora Cressman of Coopersburg, Viola Cressman of Palm Bay, Florida, Kathleen Kingston of Cape Coral, Florida, Beverly Detweiler and Jean Lengyel both of Quakertown. Fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Curtis and a brother Paul. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church 1707 Church Rd. Allentown, PA 18103. Call from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the church.
