John S. Chobot, 76, of Quakertown died May 29, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Jean L. (Pisco) Chobot. They were married 15 years last June. Born in Milford Twp., he was the son of the late Thomas & Anna (Horvat) Chobot. He was a machinist for the former Pennfield Precision of Quakertown retiring in 1997. Prior to that he was a layout man for the former Tubular Products in Souderton. John was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a life member of the John Rivers VFW Post 11322 and the Wallace Willard American Legion Post 242. He was also a member of the Milford Township Fish Game and Forestry Association. John was an avid gardener and outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed taking walks and traveling with his wife. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons James L., and John B. and his wife Donna, three daughters Pamela J. Fosbenner and her husband David, Penny Robin Cartwright and her husband Paul, and Brenda Lynn Derr and her husband Byard, Jr. A stepdaughter Carolyn J. Stefanowicz and her husband John. Two brothers Joseph, and Michael. Eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers Andrew, August, and George, three sisters Ann Brandenberger, Stella Pocius and Antonia Chobot and a step-daughter Nancy J. Allan. He is also survived by his cat Precious. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call Sunday 1:00-2:00 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to John Rivers VFW Post 11322, 41 Belmont Ave., Quakertown, PA 18951.
