John R. Sigmans

Obituary John R. Sigmans, 96, of Milford Square passed away January 28, 2021 in St. Lukes Hospital Upper Bucks Campus. He was the husband of the late Esther I. (Schmell) Sigmans. They were married 67 years before her death. Born in Quakertown he was the son of the late Jan & Stephanie (Cleys) Sigmans. He was the owner operator of Sigmans Auto Body in Milford Square from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a life time member of the Paletown Rod & Gun Club, and a member of the Milford Fish & Game Club. He also enjoyed spending time at his hunting cabin in Potter County which he owned since 1962. John also enjoyed antique cars. He was a life member and was also a former assistant chief of the Milford Square Fire Company. John also told stories of how he helped his late father build gliders and actually enjoyed his last glider ride at the age of 90. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley. John was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II serving with the 34th Infantry and seeing duty in North Africa and Italy. He was twice recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Lehigh Valley Chapel 190 and the Quakertown VFW. He is survived by his two daughters Sara Landis, and Vivian Nichols (Richard), a son Roger (Patti). Six grandchildren Monica, Matthew, Lisa, Jeffrey, Ryan, & Julie, and five great grandchildren Morgan, Jacob, Wyatt, Braxton, & Blake. Predeceased by two brothers Maurice & Albert and a son-in-law Howard. Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the C. R.
