John P. Grecky, 79, of Quakertown died July 30, 2011 in Genesis HealthCare Quakertown Center. He was the companion of Sylvia J. Atherholt. Born in Minersville, Pa he was the son of the late John & Mary (Sebach) Grecky. He was a machinest for the U.S. Gauge/Ametek Division, Sellersville from 1951 until his retirement in 1999. He was also the chief union steward for IAM on the night shift, and a representative for the night shift as a union contract negotiator. John was a former member of the Souderton American Legion, the Sellersville VFW, and the NRA. He was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a Sgt for the Armor Division in the Korean War. In addition to his companion he is survived by nieces and nephews Barbara Eyre (Richard), William Allan (Barbara), Lynda Kady (Jim), Gail Mederios, Robert Eck (Sheila). Eleven great nieces and nephews and five great great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Mary Allan and Veronica Eck. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown.
