John C. Ulrich, 75, of Quakertown died July 29, 2011 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. He was the husband of Lynda S. (Stahl) Ulrich. They were married 38 years last December. Born in Reading, PA he was the son of the late John & Ruth (Machamer) Ulrich. Before his retirement he served as a Sr. Master Sergeant with the Pa Air National Guard serving as an aircraft electrician and technician supervisor with the 111th CAMS at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. Prior to that he was employed in Middletown, Pa with the 193rd Tactical Electronic Warfare Group and he began his career at the Reading Airport serving with the 148th Squadron. John was a very active member of the Quakertown Lions Club for 35 years where he was past president and held many other offices. He was also the chair of the ways and means committee. He was also awarded the prestigious Melvin Jones Award. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a former member of the Quakertown American Legion Post 242 in Quakertown and former treasurer of the Upper Bucks Kidney Foundation. He enjoyed traveling especially to Disney World and playing golf. John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Quakertown. In addition to his wife he is survived by a twin brother Robert and his wife Irena of Quakertown. Cousins, Georgine Linderman, Judy Spencer, Rick Engel, Cheryl Care and Shirley O'Brien. Services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call Friday evening August 5, from 7:00-8:30 P.M. and Saturday August 6, from 9:30-10:30 A.M. A Lions service will be held Friday evening at 8:00 P.M.
