John C. Kogel

John C. Kogel, 91, of Sellersville died December 23, 2015 in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. He was the husband of Phyllis M. (App) Kogel. They were married 19 years last April. He was also the husband of the late Edna Mae "Eddie" McCune Kogel. Born in Glendorn, NJ he was the son of the late John G. & Elsie (Loos) Kogel. He was a retired Art Teacher teaching at several universities including the University of Pennsylvania, LaSalle University and Saint Josephs University. John was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania receiving a Masters degree in both art and physical education. He was a member of the Plastic Club & Sketch Club both of Philadelphia, and a member and exhibitor at Woodmere in Philadelphia. He also enjoyed nature and the outdoors and was a self taught Botanist. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church Ridge Valley. John also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during WWII. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughter Heidi Repsher and her husband Chuck, and Kristen Urffer. Three grandchildren Mark, Kiya, and Sara. A sister Helen McCrea and her husband Tom, Sr. Two nieces Susan and Marge, and three nephews Russell, Tom, and John. Predeceased by a sister Irma Crawford. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Johns Lutheran Church Ridge Valley 910 Allentown Rd. Sellersville, PA 18960. Call 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the church.
