Joel R. Harvey, Quakertown, died Thursday, July 24th at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. He was 59. A lifelong resident of the Quakertown area, Joel was the son of the late Elmer Stewart and Juanita Mae (Swain) Harvey. He was the former owner of Quakertown Auto Parts. Joel enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake, hunting small game, and remodeling and racing corvettes. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his three grandchildren - Anthony, Ashley, and Daniel. In addition to his longtime companion Susan Wolfe, Joel is survived by a daughter Dena and her husband Robert of Quakertown; two brothers James R. and his wife Patricia of Orlando, Florida, and Edward of Daytona Beach, Florida; a sister Carole Fischer of Quakertown; and his three grandchildren. He will also be sorely missed by his faithful companions Kelsy and Cody. Joel was preceded in death by a brother Tim. A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 31st at 2:00 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Visitation Thursday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M.
