Joan M. Rothmund

Joan M. Rothmund, 80, a life-long resident of Quakertown, PA died on Thursday, August 10, 2017 after a valiant fight with cancer. She was the wife of Robert R. Rothmund. The two celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last September. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marion Dietz. Joan shared her gracious heart with many over the years, especially the children she drove to school for 37 years and as a Girl Scout leader. She also loved music and served as the organist at Chestnut Hill Church for over 50 years. Among her other passions were camping, travelling, gardening and collecting antiques. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Cheryl Lawrence and her husband Perry, her son Daryl Rothmund and his wife Joan, grandsons: Nicholas Wyllie, Otto Rothmund, and Forest Rothmund. She was predeceased by her great-grandson Benjamin Smith. Services will be held on Saturday, August 19th at Chestnut Hill Church, 6870 Chestnut Hill Church Rd, Coopersburg, PA 18036 with calling hours from 10:00-11:00 A.M. and a memorial service at 11 AM In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Chestnut Hill UCC at the above address.
