James J. Petrello, Sr., 86, of Quakertown died August 10th in Quakertown Center Genesis Health Care. He was the husband of Elizabeth C. (Nicholas) Petrello. They were married 27 years in February. Born in Pittston, PA he was the son of the late Ralph & Mamie (Shard) Petrello. He was a meat cutter for 35 years at the former A & P Grocery Store retiring in 1984 . James loved fishing, boating, hunting, and football and he always enjoyed telling a joke. He was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Quakertown. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II serving as a Staff Sergeant in France and Germany in the 116th Infantry 29th Division. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son James, Jr., of Ringtown, PA and his daughter Maryknoll Rowe of North Wales. A sister Esther Petrello . Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by five brothers and four sisters. A mass will be held on Monday, August 17th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Isidore's Catholic Church 2545 W. Pumping Station Rd. Quakertown.
