Irene N. Cassel, 90, of Quakertown died January 29, 2009 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Paul Cassel. Born in Trumbauersville she was the daughter of the late Harvey S. & Sarah C. (Rotenberger) Sell. She, her late husband, and her late son owned and operated the former Cassel's Produce, Inc., in Souderton where Irene served as secretary treasurer of the firm. She was a founding member of the Quakertown Hospital Auxiliary. Irene was a member of First United Church of Christ, Quakertown. She is survived by a daughter Shirley Riegel of Quakertown. A daughter in law Pauline M. Cassel and her partner Lawrence L. Koch of Quakertown. A sister Alice V. Freed of Telford. Six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Ronald and a granddaughter. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W.
