Helen Ackerman, 87, of Trumbauersville died January 25, 2009 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was the wife of the late Ralph Stephen Ackerman. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late George & Julia (Lemek) Soltysiak. Helen and her late husband owned and operated the former Ackerman's Self Service Grocery in Trumbauersville. She was active with the Trumbauersville Lions Club where her late husband was a charter member. Her love of gardening and plants brought her real joy in life. She is survived by two sons Ralph George Ackerman and his wife Miriam (Mim) of Bethel, Pa and Robert Stephen Ackerman and his wife Mary of Quakertown. Two grandchildren Barry J. Ackerman and his wife Kelly of Womelsdorf and Jesse Ackerman and his wife Karen of Quakertown. Two great grandchildren Kayla & Tyler Ackerman. Special friend and sister-in-law Naomi Gohlke of Newark, Delaware. She was predeceased by a brother Genek Soltysiak. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown, Pa 18951.
