Harold W. Satterthwait, 78, of Sellersville formerly of Springfield Twp. died Friday, November 17, 2006 in Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of Mildred S. (Oeltjen-Bruns) Satterthwait. Born in Salem, Ohio he was the son of the late Charles Walter & Helen (Forsythe) Satterthwait. Harold grew up in West Chester where he attended West Chester State College as an undergraduate. He then went on to study at Lehigh and Syracuse Universities and Union College in New York where he earned masters degrees in physics, geology and education. Harold was a science teacher for the Central Bucks School District and coached the Central Bucks West football team for many years. After his retirement in 1986, he enjoyed many sports including skiing, bowling, and hunting. Harold was a natural craftsman who enjoyed making everything from lapidary jewelry to furniture. Most of all, Harold had an insatiable appetite for life and cherished the time spent with his family. He also enjoyed the time spent in Lake Willoughby, Vermont every summer with family and friends. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters - Debra and her husband Stuart S. Kingsbury, III of Dublin and Susan and her husband Timothy A. Wiest of Mechanicsburg; a sister Mildred Woolridge of West Chester; five grandchildren, who called him "Poppy" - Erin & Katy Kingsbury and Cara, Jena, and Derek Wiest. Harold was predeceased by a brother Richard and a sister Marjorie Graham. The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00- 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2006, with services following at 2:00 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W.
