Gertrude Trudi Simmons, 73 of New Tripoli formerly of Quakertown died Tuesday October 27, 2009 in her home. She was the wife of Joseph E. Simmons. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on October 12th. Born in Lithuania she was the daughter of the late Antanas and Frances Jakuskis. She was a member of the Knights of Lithuania. Trudi also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening. She received her most enjoyment in life by her loving grandchildren. She was of the catholic faith. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons Andrew A. and his wife Mary Beth of Bethlehem and Mark S. and his wife Lesa of Emmaus. Two sisters Joanna Valaitis of Canada and Grace Stupelis of Philadelphia. Her loving grandchildren, Heather, Joey, Amber, Emily and Chase and great grandson Derek. She was predeceased by a son Joseph A. Services will be held on Saturday October 31, at 11:00 a.m. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown, PA 18951.
