Geraldine E. Bates

Geraldine E. Bates, 68, of Quakertown formerly of Philadelphia died April 7, 2009 in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. She was the wife of William J. Bates. They were married 45 years last May. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Louis and Cecelia (Kerr) Tempone. Geraldine is a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Quakertown and a former member of St. Martha's Catholic Church in Northeast Philadelphia where she was a choir member and a CCD teacher. In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters Carolyn B. Grove and her husband, Jeff of Chalfont, Bernadette B. Piper and her husband, Ed of Dublin. A son, Louis V. and his wife Kimberly of Quakertown. Two sisters Bernice Luongo and Lucille Geller. Eight grandchildren Diana, J.P., Brad, Emily, Jackson, Kasey, Kerri, and Cecelia. A great grandchild JoJo. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Isidore's Catholic Church 2545 W. Pumping Station Rd. Quakertown, PA 18951. Call Monday evening 7:00-8:30 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown and Tuesday 9:00-10:00 A.M. in the church.
