George F. O'Brien, 79, of Coopersburg died April 20, 2012 in GrandView Hospital, West Rockhill Twp. He was the husband of Rose J. (Conrad) O'Brien. He was born in Philadelphia. He retired as a Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army he worked for the College of Optometry in Philadelphia, and the YMCA Domino Lane location where he was a security guard. George was a member of the VFW John Rivers Memorial VFW Post 11322, the Quakertown American Legion Wallace Willard Keller Post 242, and the VVA. He was also an active member of the Upper Bucks Senior Center. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons Butch and his wife Tricia, and George and his wife Megan all of Philadelphia. A sister Lois Pulkowski and her husband Jack of Philadelphia. Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call Thursday 9:30-11:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Washington Crossings National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa with military honors. Service Information A service summary is not available
