George A. Ward, 73, of Upper Black Eddy formerly of Staten Island, NY died September 8, 2009 in his home. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late William & Evelyn (Shaw) Ward. He was a retired pilot achieving the rank of captain with the Sandy Hook Harbor and a member of the Sandy Hook Pilots Association. George is survived by two sons Curtis and Paul both of Staten Island, three daughters Barbara Fahy of Surprise, Arizona, Kathleen Hager of Manchester, NJ, and Loretta Procter of Oak Harbor, Washington. A brother William II of Hamilton, NJ. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) Quakertown is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Doylestown Hospital 595 W. State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
