Gale Rupell, 75, of Quakertown died November 15, 2009 in his home. He was the husband of Phyllis (Ulmer) Rupell. They were married 54 years in February. Born in Bethlehem he was the son of the late William & Inez (Brown) Rupell. He was the owner operator of the former G. Rupell Well & Pump in Quakertown before his retirement in 2006. Gale was a volunteer fire fighter for 54 years for Richland Twp. Fire and Rescue formerly Shelly Fire Company where he also served as the former chief. He was a life member of the Bucks County Fire Chief Association, a lifetime member of the Quakertown Moose, and a lifetime member of the Coopersburg Fire Company Social Club. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Zion Hill Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zion Hill. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Cheryl Oncay and her husband David of Allentown, and Annette Hughes and her husband Matthew of Sellersville. Two brothers William and his wife Jacqueline of Limerick, and Roland and his wife Reta of Quakertown. Two sisters Carolyn and her husband Clair Long, and Sandra and her husband Robert Myers both of Quakertown. Three grandchildren Jared Clymer, Zachary Hughes, and Blake Hughes. Services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown.
