Frances Rafter

Frances Martin Rafter of Pipersville passed away on March 19, 2015 at Saucon Valley Manor. She was 84. Born in Baillieston, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (McCartney) Martin. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James J. Rafter III, her brother Michael, and her sisters, Mary, Sissy, Agnes, Ella and Sally. She was the loving mother of Lorraine Graybill (Jonathan) of Pipersville and Annette Kirk of Hellertown. She is also survived by her four grandchildren. A graduate of St. Bridgette's in Baillieston, Fran most enjoyed her work at the Rolls Royce factory in Glascow. She immigrated to the US in 1964, met her husband the next year, and was married in 1966, when she became a homemaker. Fran retired to Fort Myers, FL and enjoyed 20 years of travel around the world before returning to Pennsylvania last year. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 9 Broad St & Route 152, Hilltown, PA. Burial will be immediately following in the church cemetery.
