Obituary Evelyn R. Carter, 89, of Quakertown formerly of Hatfield died May 3, 2022 in the St. Lukes Hospice House, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Carter. Born in Whitpain Twsp., PA she was the daughter of the late Carl G. & Mary E. (Lindquist) Randall. She was a secretary Sommar Tracy Sommar Law Firm in Lansdale before retiring. Prior to that she was a secretary for Merck Sharpe & Dohme. She was an administrative volunteer for St. Lukes Hospital, Quakertown and was a volunteer for the former Main Street Theatre. Evelyn and her late husband owned a 56 Ford T-Bird and were members of the Valley Forge Antique Auto Club. She was also a member of the Vasa Order of America Viking Lodge #735. Evelyn was a member of Christ Church of the U.C.C. in Trumbauersville where she was a former Elder and an active volunteer, and a former member of the Church Choir "Still Small Voice" that participated in the Battle of the Church Choirs. She is survived by a daughter Gerrie L. Ely (Ed) of Trumbauersville, and a son Stephen J. Carter (Denise) of Quakertown, Step daughters Joanne Moore of Greenville, NC & Barbara McKittrick of Greenville, NC. Four grandchildren Stephen J. Carter, Jr., Ashley A. Gordon (Anthony), Julia E. Ely, & Lauren E. Ely. Eight step grandchildren Lisa A. Battis (George), Sharon Wahl (Ron), Kristina Tyson (Tim), David Moore (Amanda), Glenn Yost (Keris) & Frank Yost (Terry), Kim Hall (Will) & Glen Carter, 13 step great grandchildren; 5 step great great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 8212 W. Broad St. Quakertown, PA 18951.
