Eugene 'Rex' F. Hayden

Obituary Eugene F. "Rex" Hayden, 61, of Coopersburg, died May 8, 2022 in his home. He was the husband of Melissa J. (Gilbert) Hayden. They were married 34 years last July. Born in South Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late Eugene F. & Dorothy (Niebergall) Hayden. He was a tree and shrub technician for TruGreen, Inc. for the last 31 years. He was a member of Unami Fish & Game and enjoyed target shooting. Eugene enjoyed working on old classic cars, the outdoors, and hiking with his wife. He was also a certified gunsmith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Spencer Gilbert Hayden of Edmonton, Canada; a sister Dorothy Hayden of Bronx, NY; father-in-law Bobby Gilbert of Millville, NJ; sister-in-law Rebecca LaForest (Peter) of Spring Hill, TN; brother-in-law Robert Gilbert (Tina) of Millville, NJ; nieces and nephews Amanda, Emily, Christopher, Zackary, and Ella. Predeceased by his sister Gina Hayden-Meehan, MD and his mother-in-law Mary Jane Gilbert. Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc.
